Hey guys,     I think that surveys are an important part of teaching. Data collection can be used when identifying how each student is performing in the class. My goal is to be a Kindergarten teacher or teach 9th grade English. In Kindergarten, it is important to create diverse groups in the classroom and being able to identify each student's reading level can help to build station groups that will work well together. Also using data collection, can help teachers to identify students who are struggling and provide them with more attention and supplemental materials to help with their progress.     From viewing my classmate's blogs, I really enjoyed seeing their newsletters. It was interesting how each person had a different style and take on how to present the information to parents. I also enjoyed how one of my peers inserted her PowerPoint projects and described how they could make them better. While reading my classmate's blogs, I saw that everyone had a common ground o

Hey blog,      Today I want to shed light on distance learning. For me, although it is quite easier, I find it harder to understand all the material. Especially with the way that assignments have exact dates and times when they are due it is super easy to procrastinate. I dislike the lack of connection between students in the class as well as trying to navigate assignments. But it is helpful to have a distanced learning course in order to find time for studying and having a schedule already set for specific assignments. As an educator, I think it is important to be able to navigate distance learning by holding Zoom courses, in order to create an honest connection even over a camera. It can also be beneficial to encourage outside activities that relate to class work, in order for students to feel as though they can learn in other ways.     Open Educational Resources are accessible to everyone who wishes to use them. These are highly beneficial for educators because it provides them wit

Hi Everyone,      This week I want to reflect on my first experience creating a website. Personally, it was so much fun! I really enjoyed figuring out the theme I was going to use, putting together the  announcements, finding curriculums I could use, and the overall finished product. I really liked everything about this assignment, for starters it was super fun. I have always loved creating things and in Middle School my teachers would ask us to create websites for my computer classes. This would be a very helpful alternative or even pair to blogging because being able to blog about the teaching experience and sharing it with the classroom would be quite beneficial. As a teacher, it is important to keep parents and students up to date on what is going on in class that week, as well as due dates for important assignments. Below I have linked my blog to show my finished assignment:      Home (weebly.com)     I am still not a huge fan of Diigo. It is kind of confusing to use but in some

Hey Blog,      This week I looked at a few different teacher's profiles on a school's website. I first looked at a Physics teacher's page and it included very helpful information for his students such as a teacher introduction, course calendar for each quarter, and different student resources if they are struggling. The second teacher that I looked at was an Art History and World History teacher. I found her site very helpful because it contained a syllabus, course calendar, graduation requirements, a class website, email, and many other helpful resources for both courses. At the end of the blogpost, I will share images and links to both of these.     There are many ways to be a highly productive teacher and one of the tools that I hope to use is online games and activities. These will definitely be beneficial in increasing student engagement and encouraging students to have fun learning each topic. My goal is to teach K-1 or Middle School English. This tool will be highly

Hi Blog,     I kind of enjoy Diigo. It is somewhat challenging to navigate, but other than that there are many practical things that are provided through Diigo. It is helpful in storing information as well as, finding other resources like images.      I have really enjoyed blogging. It is a beneficial way to relay information and it is very stress relieving. Being able to write out what you are thinking and having it formatted so simply is helpful in being able to navigate through important information. I really enjoy how BlogSpot puts the information in order by date and also how well it puts together embedded materials. There is not really anything that is bothersome when it comes to using this platform. And as an educator it is an easy and sufficient way of relaying due dates and important information. Before taking this class, I dabbled a little bit in blogging during Middle School just for fun shares and such. But I am so glad that this is heavily encouraged for success.     An i

Hey Guys,      Firstly, I would greatly encourage each student to use their own words in each assignment. I know that sometimes it can be challenging but it is so important. When material is copywritten it has been claimed as an individual's words. It so important that you give that individual credit for the work that they have put in. With fair use, you are able to use that individual's words as a resource, but you MUST give credit where credit is due. As an educator, it is important that when using readings and other instructional material there must be a citation for that resource. Students must understand that any source being used should be cited because it is not their own words.      Secondly, I would like to talk about the issues of cyberbullying and academic dishonesty. Cyberbullying is a major problem that many students suffer from, and many do not speak up about it. The goals that I have set in this classroom are honesty and love. Being kind to others is very import

Hey Guys,      I want to talk about my experience with Microsoft Word. I have used other types of programs like Google Docs, but nothing compares to the experience that I have had throughout the years with Word. This program is definitely one of my favorites to use for many reasons. Firstly, it is much easier to navigate because growing up I have become more and more accustomed to its styles and the way to navigate it. There are so many different fonts and figuring out how to change the margins, font-size, and paragraphing is much simpler than other software's that are available. All Microsoft programs are very easy to use and having all of them together is quite convenient.
